The Metropolitan Volleyball League (MVL) develops, promotes, and professionalises volleyball across Lagos State — a structured, competitive platform that strengthens clubs, enhances player performance, and raises the sport's visibility across the metropolis.

Objectives

Unite volleyball stakeholders across Lagos State through vibrant and engaging matchday experiences.
Encourage youth participation and promote volleyball as a viable sporting and career pathway.
Build a strong and sustainable talent pool for Lagos State representation at national and elite competitions.
Promote youth development and ensure effective participation at National Youth Games and similar platforms.
Motivate clubs to adopt professional standards in coaching, officiating, administration, and player welfare.
Establish a Youth Volleyball League by 2028, with each registered club required to field at least one U-17 boys' or girls' team.

Governance

The League Management Committee (LMC) governs the season: approving clubs, setting fixtures, confirming results, and reserving the right to rotate, add, or withdraw venues based on logistics, safety, and facility standards.

How to participate

Clubs

Every registered club must field both a men's and a women's team. Registration starts with a short expression of interest — an admin reviews it and invites your club to complete the full registration wizard.

Players

Only players who reside within Lagos State are eligible. You join the league through a registered club, not directly — and every transfer between clubs must go through the LMC.

Fans

Clubs bring a minimum of 20 supporters in official replica jerseys to every matchday. Respectful conduct is expected of everyone in the stands — and the season ends with a Best-Behaved Supporters Award.
